The Innovation Studio at the Bakken Area Skills center is an area that provides access to digital fabrication and creation tools with the goal of fostering innovation and bridging the digital divide. It is equipped with 3D printers, 3D scanners, large format cutters/printers, laser engravers, heat presses, embroidery machines, CNC wood router, CNC plasma cutter and laps tops with software for design and creation. The Innovation Studio is a place to play, to create, to mentor and to invent: a place for learning and innovation. It is a space that provides hands-on, creative ways for students to design, experiment, and invent as they engage with a variety of tools and technology.
The Innovation Studio is a fast-paced, hands-on learning experience that teaches participants rapid prototyping and results in a personal portfolio of technical skills. It fosters expanding opportunities for experiential STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) education.
